The Mahogany Hall was founded in 1968 together with the Longstreet Jazz Club. It started with old-time jazz concerts given by the house orchestra, and these were gradually supplemented by appearances by regional jazz formations. Artists favour the Mahogany Hall thanks to its special club atmosphere. They regard their appearances here as a high point in the concert schedule.
