The Natural History Museum is one of the major nature museums in Switzerland. Representing animals in their natural habitat has been one of its specialties. With its over 200 scenes showing domestic and exotic birds and mammals, it possesses one of the largest diorama shows in Europe.

"Animals as Architects" gives a vivid impression of how diverse and inventive the building activities of our fellow creatures can be. PC stations invite visitors to play and learn more about the various subjects. The marvelous collection of alpine minerals numbers among the best in the world. The exhibition "Earth Planet and Living Space" presents the structure of the Earth and various geological aspects of our country including a plateosaur from Frick/Aargau. «Barry» the Saint Bernard dog who died in Bern in 1814 is and always has been the public's number one favorite.
