The Kornhausforum offers a year-round, varied program of events associated with the fields of architecture, design, the new media, video, photography, the applied arts, literature and music. It sees itself as an open cultural venue responding to pressing concerns and issues and hosting new genres of event on an experimental basis. The Kornhausforum promotes and encourages new ideas and works in partnership with other cultural providers.

Exhibitions comprise an important part of the program. Events staged regularly include presentations, panel and roundtable discussions, symposia, video projections, installations, performances, concerts, readings, parties, festivals and interdisciplinary hybrid forms. The central venue for events is the impressive "Stadtsaal" (town chamber) on the first floor of the Kornhaus. It can also be hired for public and private functions.
