Numerous events and changing exhibitions make for a varied program and appeal to a broad section of the public. The main building houses a modern manufacturing plant (with audiovisual guide in ger/fr/it/engl/sp), restaurant, cheese shop as well as temporary exhibitions on the upper floor.

Furthermore there is a crafts shop selling glass goods, ceramics, toys, kiosk articles and Emmental specialties. The equipment from the 1954 cheese dairy is on show at the rear of the building. There is also a bakery/cake shop with a wide choice of sweet and savory food. A fire-cart cheese dairy dating from 1900 is displayed in the shop. In the cowherd's cottage dating from 1741 cheese is frequently made in a cauldron over an open fire.
