5 bicycle tours into the countryside

Discover our five bicycle tours around Bern with the Flyer electric bike. Sit on the saddle – set off – enjoy! Riding a Flyer is like cycling, only nicer. You will step on the pedals – and already double your power. With half the effort and double the enjoyment, you will experience the Bern region on two wheels with a smile on your face.
Each tour will give you the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful landscape of the Mittelland region for three to five hours. Past idyllic lakes and romantic castles, you will recharge your batteries so that you can then enjoy the benefits of the city of Bern. Each of the five routes has Bern as its start and destination.

Route 1 - Wanderlust with mountain view
Are you gripped by wanderlust when you see an airport? With this tour, you’ll get that wanderlust when you watch the planes take off. If you continue, however, you’ll see the wonderful Alpine panorama.
Tour 1 - Wanderlust with mountain view (896 KB)

Route 2 - Energy and history
Aare and Lake Wohlen are one of the finest and most popular local recreation areas around Bern. In the heart of a green idyll, there are striking constructions – the river power plant on Lake Wohlen and the nuclear power plant near Mühleberg. You can well use their energy during the cycle tour when crossing the gentle hills with a good view from Laupen to Bern.
Tour 2 - Energy and history (1.15 MB)

Route 3 – Relaxation and idyll
At the western end of the Frienisberg, between Frieswil and Landerswil, the tour crosses a viewing point. The panorama here is simply breathtaking! From the Jura to the Three-Lakes region, you can see across the Waadtland and Freiburg Alps to the Bernese Oberland. In short, you’ve got virtually half of Switzerland at your feet.
Tour 3 - Relaxation and idyll (1.15 MB)

Route 4 – City - countryside
This tour is defined by the constant interchange between city and countryside. Just a few minutes after leaving the agglomeration behind, you think you are in deepest countryside – only to find yourself back in an urban agglomeration just a few minutes later.
 Tour 4 - City - countryside (760 KB)

Route 5 – Window on the foothills of the Alps
Two highly different sections define this tour. The outbound journey from Bern to Brenzikofen takes you through undulating land with ascents and descents. The return journey then takes you along a good part of the Aare and is flat and can be tackled with ease. The Alpine foothill panorama before Konolfingen is breathtaking.
